“Under the Dome” — Stephen King’s sci-fi thriller comes to prime time in the form of this ambitious summer series. It tells the story of some small-town residents who suddenly find themselves cut off from the rest of the world by a giant, transparent force field. Soon, battle lines are drawn and bad things happen. Think: “Big Brother” in a bubble. Mike Vogel, Dean Norris and Rachelle Lefevre lead the cast. 9 p.m., CBS.

Miss You Can Do It” brings an admirable twist to the typical beauty pageant concept. It’s a documentary that focuses on a competition that is open to young women and girls with special needs and challenges. 9 p.m., HBO.
