LOS ANGELES (AP) — Two former Southern Californians are among 19 members of a Prescott, Ariz., Hotshot firefighting crew killed in a forest fire on Sunday.

Former Moreno Valley, Calif., fire Capt. Michael MacKenzie of Spring City, Tenn., confirms his son Chris is among the dead.

Chris MacKenzie, a former Hemet, Calif., firefighter, joined the U.S. Forest Service in 2004, moving to the Prescott Fire Department about two years ago.

The son of a Los Angeles County fire captain was also killed. Twenty-one-year-old Kevin Woyjeck (WOY'-chek) was the son of Capt. Joe Woyjeck.

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti has ordered all city flags flown at half-staff in memory of the fallen firefighters and Los Angeles police Chief Charlie Beck has similarly asked his officers to wear mourning bands.
