Carol Lee Sperr

passed away October 9, 2013 after a brief battle with pneumonia. She was born September 27, 1927 in Portland, Oregon to Alva Rush and Amy Lee Clayton. She was a fourth generation Oregonian with a great-great-grandmother that travelled the Oregon Trail in 1851. Another great-grandfather was the brother of Jesse Applegate who joined him in blazing the Applegate Trail to Southern Oregon in 1843. Carol grew up in Milwaukie, OR and married the love of her life Jack Sperr January 17, 1948 in Oregon City. They lived in Milwaukie and Salem, OR where she was a secretary at Chemeketa Community College. She was an outstanding homemaker, gardener, baker and grandmother. Her passion was travel especially an annual trip to Kona, Hawaii. In 2005 she moved to Santa Catalina Villas in the Tucson foothills. Her children are Randy Sperr, Hermiston, OR and Julie (Ron) Church, Tucson. Grandchildren are Jason (Elizabeth) Sperr, Stanfield, OR, Riley Church, Sunriver, OR and Carson Church, San Diego, CA; great-grandchildren, Jack and Taylor Sperr and Ryder McMillan. No service will be held. Donations may be made to any hospice of your choice.
