CITRON, Doris Berman, born Doris Rita Berman August 30, 1924 in Torrington, CT, passed away April 21, 2013. She was preceded in death (2003) by her loving husband of 57 years, David. They were married on Valentine's Day 1946 after a whirlwind six-week courtship and are survived by four children, Michael, Dennis (Pat), Lynn Greenawalt, and Steven (Linda) and six grandchildren, Aaron and Rachel Citron, Jason and Kevin Greenawalt, Sara and Eric Citron. Her life was devoted to supporting her husband as he grew his medical practice in Charlotte, NC, and to her children. She served on every PTA board, sometimes several different boards at the same time. She was an active member of Hadassah and B'nai B'rith and she was the first Jewish woman to serve on the board of the YWCA in Charlotte, NC. Doris loved dancing (so much so that she persuaded her husband to take a ballroom dance class), golf, traveling, and doing taxes (really!). She served as treasurer for almost every organization for which she volunteered. Doris (Brownie) lived a great life, touched everyone who knew her (every single caregiver had a story to tell about how she'd touched/ contributed to them) and was loved by all. She is at peace. We will all miss her deeply. Memorial service, Tuesday, April 23, 2013, 12:00 p.m. noon at Congregation Anshei Israel, 5550 E. Fifth Street (at Craycroft) with Rabbi Robert Eisen officiating. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, American Cancer Society, or Tucson Medical Center Hospice. Arrangements by EVERGREEN MORTUARY &Amp; CEMETERY.
