Born in Pittstown, NJ, to Emil and Mathilda Zacharias. Predeceased by wife, Helen; daughter, Honey; sisters, Alice and Edna "Honey" and half-brother, George. Survived by wife, Jerry; son, Curt (Mary); daughter, Penny; stepdaughters, Donna (Doug) and Mary (Michael); sisters, Milly and Margy; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Michael), Kristine (John), Curt, Jr. "Zach," Melissa, Alexis and Alizabeth; great- granddaughter, Sylvia "Dixie". Cliff grew up on the New Jersey family farm. Cliff became an all-conference football player at Frenchtown H.S. He turned down an athletic scholarship at Rutgers to join the USMC during the Korean War. Cliff loved the out of doors, hiking, mountain climbing and world travel. He climbed mountains in California and near Tucson; Scaled Peaks in Africa and Russia and made several trips to Nepal. Cliff had a successful business career as sales manager for the Waterous company selling fire hydrants over the western states. Cliff belonged to the Southern Arizona Hiking Club, and Westerners. He relished western lore and was an unabashed fan of John Wayne. A loyal fan, he also followed the ups and downs of U of A Wildcats "Go Cats". It was his wish to have his son Curt, distribute his ashes at a favorite hiking site. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 27, 2013, 5:00 p.m. at the family home.
