Edward "Wayo" Ohnesorgen

85, passed away peacefully May 11, 2013 at home. He was born in Benson, Arizona in 1928. He is preceded in death by his wife, Frances; parents, Edward and Victoria Ohnesorgen; sisters, Dora, Sylvia and brother Jake. He is survived by his sons, Edward, and Robert Ohnesorgen; grandsons, Eddie, Brian and Alonso Ramos; granddaughter, Aileen Ramirez; great- granddaughters, Lillyana Ohnesorgen, Destiny, Yareli and Alondra Rodriguez; brothers, William, Frank, Rudy and sister, Irene. He attended the University of Arizona, and then began his career as a system engineer at Hughes Aircraft Company. He was part of the team which developed the guidance systems for the Tomahawk and Maverick missiles. He retired in December 1983. He served his country in the United States Navy and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for his valor. Dad will be missed by all. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 16, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY (North Chapel) 204 S. Stone Ave., with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be held Friday, May 17, 2013, 10:30 a.m. at St. Augustine's Cathedral, 192 S. Stone Ave. Interment to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery.
