Johnson Eric

Eric M. Johnson

57, died suddenly on June 29, 2013. This native Tucsonan loved the desert, but found true adventure in sailing. He learned to sail delivering a yacht from Taiwan to Mexico. Eric and sister Charlie operated charters in both Mexico and the Caribbean. They "crossed the pond" from Mexico to Spain. Eric founded Clay Mine Adobe in 1997 with extensive research on the science of adobe, innovative manufacturing processes and machines and his integrity. Eric's unique products have been used in historic buildings, high-end homes and the Ritz Carlton. But nothing was more important to Eric than being the father of Ashley (19) and Eric (14). Eric, son of Dr. Robert "Bob" and Eleanor Johnson Hancock, is survived by his brother, Bruce (Debra); sisters, Annie (Bates) Butler; Mary Lou (Ross) Laybourn, Margaret Brien, Charlie Johnson and Rosie, the mother of his children. Eric was an alumnus of Salpointe and UA. Friends are invited to celebrate Eric's life, Sunday, July 21, 2013, 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m., at the Butlers, 2702 E. 4th St. (85716). The family suggests donations to his children's trust, payable to: A. B. Butler, Trustee (Memo: Johnson children), 250 N. Meyer Ave., Tucson 85701. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel.
