James "Tony" Judd

died on July 24, 2013 less than two months shy of his 92nd birthday. He was born September 5, 1921 in Pomerene, Arizona. In high school he played both basketball and football and worked summers in the Bisbee mine. He served in the Navy in the Pacific during World War II. He met his wife, Joyce, in Nogales, Arizona and they were married for 63 years. Tony worked for Standard Oil for 24 years and then started a new career in his 50s with a Union 76 service station at 22nd and Tucson Blvd. Tony is survived by his three children, Gayle (Russ) Simpson, Gary (Patsy) Judd and Nancy (Richard) Shattuck. He dearly loved his seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The family thanks TMC hospice for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Gospel Rescue Mission. Service at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, August 3, 2013 at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. Grant Rd.
