Jessie "Chita" Romero

was called upon by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on April 2, 2013. A devoted wife to Henry C. Romero of 40 years. She was a loving mother to Sandra (Albert) Ochoa, Sylvia Romero, Enrique (Genevieve) Romero and Gabriel Gordon and beloved grandmother to 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Survived by, cherished aunts, Adela Mendez and Hortencia Fimbres; four sisters, three brothers and numerous cousins. Preceded in death by, Jesus P. Mesa (father); David Romero (son) and two brothers. Chita, was born on November 14, 1938, and grew up in South Tucson where she graduated from Pueblo High School in 1958. From the late 60's to the early 70's she worked as a nurse's aide at St. Mary's Hospital. Chita was a homemaker who loved her family dearly. She loved being around children, macramae, crocheting, catching a Tucson Toro game and helping out in the club house afterward. Two of the most favorite things she loved to do was watch her novelas and go to the casino's. Mom we love you, and we will never forget your smile and the times we had with you. Till we meet again. Visitation will be on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at MARTINEZ FUNERAL CHAPELS from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be on Friday, April 12, 2013 at St. Augustine Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. with a burial to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. Arrangements handled by MARTINEZ FUNERAL CHAPELS, 2580 S. 6th Ave., Tucson, AZ.
