Morton K. Tuller
1921 - 2013
died peacefully on May 1st at his home. Predeceased by his parents, Manes and Bella Tuller; four siblings and his first wife, Sylvia. Mort led an extraordinary life. Born in Chicago, he toured the country as a young man in the stage production of "Dead End Kids." Served his country honorably in World War II earning ten battle stars in both the European and Pacific theatres. Founded Tuller Trophy in 1955, later receiving national recognition for his business accomplishments. A civic leader, he served as president of the following organizations: Tucson Press Club, POW/MIA association, Elks Lodge 385 (garnering national recognition), Better Business Bureau, 88 Crime, Tucson Association of the Blind, commander of Jewish War Veterans, Sabbar Shrine, and Friends of Saguaro National Park. Worked as a volunteer for many years at TMC and Saguaro National Park. Special thanks to all the doctors that have helped him these past few years, especially Dr. Steven Wool and staff, and TMC hospice care. Survived by his wife, Arlene Tuller; son, Howard Tuller (Patricia) and granddaughters, Sydney and Olivia of Tucson and his extended family, Ruth-Ellen (Gary), Rosanne (Warren), Kellan (Ted), Marcia (Jonathan), Stacy, David (Faith), Marshall (Ora) and his 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Service will be held at EVERGREEN MORTUARY, Friday, May 3, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers we suggest a contribution to Aviva Children's Services or Friends of Saguaro National Park.
