Nancy Louise Nierenhausen
77, of Minneapolis, Minnesota went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 10, 2013, after a valiant and courageous battle with cancer. Nancy was born on June 7, 1936 to Kathryn and Albert Hermanson, she was the oldest of three children; her sister, Helen and her brother, Raymond. On June 6, 1959 Nancy married the love of her life; and for fifty four years she dearly loved, and was dearly loved by Donald Nierenhausen. Nancy's family was the focus of her life. Her unwavering, steadfast strength, and character served as a quiet guiding force not only to her children, but to all she touched. Through Nancy's grace, and dignity she exemplified a true and steady compass as she lovingly raised her three children; Ronald Raymund, Nanette Kay and Wayne Francis. Nancy is survived by her husband, Donald Nierenhausen; her children, Ron (Yvette) Nierenhausen, Nanette (Daniel) O'Connor and Wayne (Erin) Nierenhausen; her grandchildren, Lynn, Michael, Sandra, Jackie, Alex, Adam, Carley, Joshua and Shawn and her great-grandchildren, Breeanna and Will. Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Kathryn and Albert and brother, Raymond. Throughout Nancy's battle with cancer, she was touched by many angels; to include those at Davita Dialysis Center, the University of Arizona Cancer Center, and the University of Arizona Medical Center. Thank you for the loving care you always provided. A Catholic Mass will be held at St. Rita's Catholic Church in Cottage Grove, Minnesota at a date yet to be determined. At a future time when Nancy can be reunited with her husband in death, she will be interred at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN. A prayer service honoring Nancy's life, will be held in Tucson, Arizona on Friday, September 13, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY.
