Patricia Patten

of Tucson, Arizona, died Monday, July 15 2013. She was 78. Pat and her husband, Jim, have lived in Tucson since 1982. Both worked at the University of Arizona - Pat at the university bookstore and Jim as professor and head of the journalism department. They also had lived in Nebraska and Texas. The former Patricia Jean Apgar was the daughter of Tom and Velma Apgar of Lexington, Nebraska, who preceded her in death. She graduated from Lexington High School in 1952 and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She and Jim loved exploring the world on cruises and international trips, visiting 34 nations. She is survived by her husband Jim; her daughter, Billie Stewart (Myril) of Springfield, MO; son, Mike Patten (Susan) of Sunrise Beach, TX; daughter, Julie Patten (Michael) of Oakland, CA; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Visitation is from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 19, 2013, at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway Blvd. in Tucson. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Heart Association.
