Therese M. Sullivan (Terry)
of Tucson, AZ and Bay Head, NJ, formally from Shorts Hills, NJ passed peacefully on April 16, 2013 after a long battle with multiple strokes. Terry grew up in Johnston, PA and was one of ten children. She moved to Philadelphia in 1954 to work in Human Resources for the First Pennsylvania Company and then married her loving husband of 57 years, James E. Sullivan. After putting Jim through college and helping him earn his degree at LaSalle University, Terry and Jim moved from Philadelphia to Boston, back to Philadelphia and then to New Jersey. In New Jersey, Terry followed her five children through school as a front office manager of both Glenwood Elementary School and Millburn High School. Once they completed their K-12 education, Terry became the office manager of Northwestern Mutual. Besides those with her husband Jim, her most precious life moments centered on her five children, and their growing families. As a wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, inspiration and friend, Terry has had a significant influence on many. Her kindness, generosity and passion for all that is good and right will be long-lasting in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Terry is survived by her loving husband, James E. Sullivan and her only living sibling, Rose Collins. Terry's children, Tracy Benson (Bryan), Tierney, James (Kim), Tory and Mark (Elsa) Sullivan and their families recognize the blessing of Terry as their remarkable mother who loved unconditionally. Her seven grandchildren, Tyler and Bryan Benson, Zachary Pickett, Mackenzie and James Sullivan, Jesse Warren and Colt Sullivan hold Grammy Terry in the hearts and will always feel comforted by her love and support. A small service in honor of Terry will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 5150 N. Valley View Rd. on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. A larger celebration of life will be scheduled this summer in Bay Head, NJ. Arrangements by EVERGREEN MORTUARY.
