WIKSTROM, Helen Loper
4/5/1927 - 3/21/2016
Helen was born at her grandparents homestead in Sperryville, VA to parents Thaddeus A. Loper and Frances Valentine Brown. She often spoke of fond memories churning milk and wearing her grandmother Laura's "poke" bonnet. Her grandmother was so good to her and she loved her very much. While attending Hampton Roads Business College, she met Richard M. Wikstrom. They married August 31, 1946 in Newport News, Virginia. In 1956 while the family was stationed at Castle Air Force Base in Merced, California, Richard was killed in a B52 crash. Being left with two small daughters, Helen worked hard. She enjoyed writing poetry over the years. In one she wrote, "God has been good to me and life so very worthwhile". Our family would like to thank Sabino Canyon Rehab staff and residents, Agape Hospice and also Desert Rose Heather for their care, compassion and friendships. Survived by two daughters, Terry (Steve) Billheimer of Tucson and Joyce (Barry) Klimist of Colorado; seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great granddaughters. Arrangements by DESERT ROSE HEATHER.
