Claudine Villardito watches every episode of “Mad Men” twice.
The first run-through is all about the clothes and the details.
“I will stop and pause every minute and look at what everyone is wearing,” says Villardito, a vintage clothing collector who owns Black Cat Vintage. She finds herself continually awestruck at the pitch-perfect details by the show’s costume designer and set decorator. After deconstructing the outfits and scenery, she watches again to find out what happened.
With remote firmly in hand, Villardito won’t miss a thing as the show — which follows flawed ad exec Don Draper in the ’60s — begins its swan song tonight. In honor of its final season, she selected three outfits that epitomize 1969.
