For true whiskey lovers, one hundred dollars seems like a reasonable cap to spend on a bottle of whiskey for someone special, right? The team at UnderTheLabel, an alcohol data site by Graphiq, thought so too. However, there are a lots of less expensive, but still high-quality, options to choose from as well.
Gift-giving can be complicated, so UnderTheLabel simplified it for you. The data experts combed through over 1,700 whiskeys to curate a list of the top-rated whiskeys under $100. Whiskeys are ranked according to their Smart Rating, a score out of 100 that takes into account reviews from various expert sources, including the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, the Los Angeles Whisk(e)y Society and the Beverage Testing Institute.
Ties are relatively common since many bottles receive a mixture of gold and silver awards. When ties occurred, the least expensive bottle was favored. For consumer products data, UnderTheLabel sources data from manufacturer websites. Check back every month as new bottles come out and are included in a site update.
No matter how you like your whiskey, there's something for every palate in this ranking.
Note: Some of the whiskeys pictured are not from the exact year as the listed bottle.
