The Southern Arizona Home Builders Association Home & Garden Show hits the Tucson Convention Center Friday.

Whether you're shopping for something specific or just looking for ideas, the show features a little something for everyone.

Some highlights:

• Tucson garden and landscape expert and author Scott Calhoun will present seminars on perfect plant combinations, container planting and landscape designs for hot climates.

• Solar Store owner Katharine Kent will host a Solar 101 class.

• The Humane Society will bring pets available for adoption.

• P.F. Chang's will have a cooking show with food samples and recipes.


• When: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. next Sunday.

• Where: Tucson Convention Center, 260 S. Church Ave.

• How much: General admission is $8 for adults; children 12 and under are free. Half-off military discounts are available each day. Friday is 50/50 Day with half-price admission for those 50 and over.

Coupons for $2 off admission are available at or at Patio Pools & Spas, Walgreens stores and all Circle K stores. Only one discount per person is allowed.

• Parking: Available around the TCC. Free parking is available Saturday and Sunday at the city/state garage at Manning House Way and West Congress.

Free shuttle buses will run every 15 minutes from the garage to the east entrance to the TCC. Street parking meters are free Saturday and next Sunday.
