No Kill Pima County

“Best in Show” became an instant film classic when it was released in 2000, following five eccentric entrants (the handlers) competing in a prestigious dog show.

When the mockumentary comedy screens at the Loft Cinema on Saturday, Jan. 27, it will be a fundraiser for adoptable pets where special needs are the preferred breed.

Save the Saveable, an initiative under the grassroots organization, No Kill Pima County, strives to save the saveable through rehabilitative care and then adoption.

From 3 to 4 p.m. support local food vendors – The Curry Pot, American Asian, Beer Geek Bakery, Tilted Halos and EnjoyaBowls — while browsing raffle prizes donated by Omni Scottsdale Resort and Spa at Montelucia, Adventure Dog Ranch, Holistic Animal Care Shoppes, The Loop Jean Company, Tucson Roadrunners, Gaslight Theater and more.

Kricket with KHIT Radio will emcee the presentation and the movie (rated PG-13) begins at 4 p.m. Tickets cost $12 and may be purchased at Eventbrite: savethesaveablemovie.eventbrite.com or at the theater on Saturday.
