The Susan G. Komen for the Cure is usually a sea of pink. This year expect splashes of green as the event, now in its 15th year, gets under way on St. Patrick's Day.
"I'm sure you'll see shades of green on Sunday," said Gillian Drummond, communications consultant for Susan G. Komen for the Cure Southern Arizona.
More than 7,000 runners and walkers are expected to take part in the breast cancer awareness 5K series, which takes place Sunday on the University of Arizona Mall.
The event had been held at Reid Park for more than decade.
Komen Southern Arizona gives grants to local groups for breast cancer treatment, awareness, research and prevention. The race is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the nonprofit, which last year issued more than $600,000 in local grants.
