The real story was that there was no story. But it appears there may have been rumors.
A published story — where it was published we do not know — in 1951 said that a sex club was being formed among sixth grade girls at a local school. There had been other rumors about sex parties and similar occurrences, but again, none were based in fact.
As a result, the Arizona Daily Star published an article filled with quotes from officials saying it wasn't true, there was no evidence and student welfare is paramount.
It was almost as if someone had asked the gotcha question, "When did you stop beating your wife?"
