Heads up. At 3 p.m. today, F-16 planes from the Royal Netherlands Air Force will slowly fly over the University of Arizona.

The fly-by is to honor Tom Gehrels, a professor and astronomer who died in July. A celebration of his life is planned for 3-5:30 p.m. today at the Kuiper Space Sciences building, room 308.

Here's a note from UA vice president Jaime Gutierrez about the significance of the airplanes: "When German armed forces invaded the Netherlands, Dr. Gehrels joined the Dutch Resistance and later joined Britain's Special Operations which sabotaged and spied on German forces."
