Beauty on the cheap

It's expensive to get good hair products at the salon or store.

If you can't bring yourself to pay the outrageous prices of professional products, and the cheap stuff isn't doing the trick, why not make your own?

Natural fruits and oils that are good for our bodies are also good for our hair.

You probably have ingredients you can use already.

Here are a couple of ideas:

You can just work olive or coconut oil through your hair, focusing mainly on the ends, and leave it in for twenty minutes, then wash it out.

That works ok, but what I really like is this:

You'll need half a banana and 2 tbs. of both olive oil and coconut oil.

Blend it in the blender or food processor until it's smooth.

Work it through your hair and cover it with a shower cap. Leave that on for twenty minutes or longer. Then rinse and wash it out. I did this last weekend, and saw great results. You can also substitute the banana for an avocado. I haven't tried that yet, but with all the vitamin e in them, it's gotta be good.

Do you have any DIY beauty tricks to save you money?
