Here are some ideas to get you and the kids out of the house next week. 

Monday: Free movie at Crossroads, 4811 E. Grant Road. Your choices are Rio or Mirror Mirror. Shows start at 10 a.m. Free for kids 10 and under; $2 for everybody else. Go to to see a complete summer schedule for Crossroads and Oracle View.

Tuesday: Crafternoon, Joel D. Valdez Library, 101 N. Stone Ave. Kids of all ages can draw, glue and glitter till their heart's content. All supplies are included. 2 to 3 p.m. Free.

Wednesday: Decorate a pot and plant a seed at Bookmans Speedway, 6230 E. Speedway. Kids will plant a seed and paint their very own pot to take home. 10 a.m. All supplies are included. Free.

Thursday: Magic Show, Wheeler Taft Abbett Sr. Library, 7800 N. Schisler Drive. A mix of magic, juggling and comedy by Cody Landstrom. Tickets available one hour before showtime. Show starts at 3 p.m. Free.

Friday: Splash Pad at Brandi Fenton Park, 3482 E. River Road. The splash pad features spray arches, water geysers and many other water features to cool off in. Pack a picnic, sunscreen and water. 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Free.

Saturday: Kids Club at Michaels, 7150 E. Broadway. Kids can create a Fathers Day gift while mom shops. 10 to 11:30 a.m. $2 per 30-minute session. Supplies are included. Go to for a complete schedule.

Sunday: Science Sundays, Children's Museum Tucson, 200 S. Sixth Ave. Kids can participate in hands-on demonstrations and experiments in aerospace and environmental sciences, astronomy, biology, ecology, engineering and physics. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission will be discounted to $2 every Sunday through September 1.
