Children ride the one of the rides during the last day of the Pima County Fair Sunday, April 24, 2011.

The Pima County Fair starts Thursday, and runs through the 28th.

I love going to the fair, but paying for parking, admission, food and rides adds up quickly. And, now that our son is a little older, and can actually go on more rides, it can put quite a dent in the wallet.

Fortunately, the fair offers discounts, almost daily.

On opening day, for example, there's a food drive. You get free admission until 3 p.m. with two cans of food. It's also wristband day. Get $5 off with an unopened bottle of Coke or Diet Coke. Wristbands are regularly priced at $30.

Also, you can get tickets for 10 rides for $10 at Fry's, but Wednesday is the last day to get them.
