Many school children will be off school, starting today through next week for teacher grading day and fall break. So, I thought I'd put together a list of fun things to do with the kids on the cheap.

Pima County Public Library offers a ton of free activities from Wii gaming to drawing to Lego Club. Check the schedule here for specifics.

A really cool event the library is hosting next week is DIY Fashion Week for teens. The event takes place from 1 to 4 p.m. October 7 through 11 at the Joel D. Valdez Main Library, 101 N. Stone Ave.

Teens will learn how to repurpose an old t-shirt, crochet with beads, create fashion with duct tape and more. Registration is required.

Call 594-5500 to register.
