Pima County’s Court Appointed Special Advocate program (CASA) plans four information sessions for potential volunteers.

CASA volunteers aid in determining a child’s best interest in court proceedings. Among the decisions volunteers help make are deciding if a child in foster care should be returned to parents or guardians, be placed with other relatives or be freed for permanent adoption.

The information events are scheduled for the following times and locations:

Tuesday, July 22, 9 to 10 a.m. at Beyond Bread at Oracle and Ina roads;

Wednesday, July 30, 3 to 4 p.m. at Posada Java at 665 S. Park Centre Ave. in Green Valley;

Thursday, August 14, 3 to 4 p.m. at Beyond Bread at Speedway and Wilmot Road;

Wednesday, August 27, 9 to 10 a.m. at Beyond Bread at Campbell Avenue and Ft. Lowell Road.
