A Pima County grand jury indicted Alejandro Guerena on nearly two dozen drug charges last March, but the sheriff's department isn't done with him yet.

According to court documents, the sheriff's department obtained permission from Judge Scott Rash to search through Guerena's cell phone this week to see what he's been up to since his indictment.

They haven't had a chance to look at the phone because Guerena has spent most of this past year as a fugitive.

He was caught in Mexico earlier this month and turned over to authorities at the Dennis DeConcini Port of Entry in Nogales, Ariz. on Jan. 18.

In case you've forgotten, it was Guerena's brother, Jose, 26, who was fatally shot May 5, 2011, by members of the Pima County Regional SWAT team who raided his home and three others simultaneously as part of a drug-trafficking investigation.

According to the search warrant, detectives want to have Alejandro Guerena's phone analyzed to "obtain data and evidence to substantiate the possible on-going illegal activities."

Three of Guerena's relatives are scheduled to enter plea agreements with the state on Feb. 4.
