In my story today on how murder cases over the last five years have been resolved, I mentioned five people were arrested on suspicion of murder, but indicted on a less serious charge.

I thought you might be interested in what they were charged with and how their cases were resolved.

One was arrested on a drug sales charge, pleaded guilty to solicitation to sell and given three years probation.

Two were arrested for aggravated assault, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and are serving two and four years in prison, respectively.

The fourth was arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm, was convicted of it at trial and is serving 10 years in prison.

The last defendant was charged with drive-by shooting, pleaded guilty to drive-by shooting and is serving five years in prison.
