Judge Sarah Simmons and Judge Karen Adam didn't waste any time.

After interviewing the nine finalists for the open commissioners spots Tuesday, they've already announced their choices.

Laurie Beaver San Angelo and Alyce Pennington were selected for the Family Law bench. San Angelo will start Feb. 1 and Alyce Pennington will start Dec. 17.

Jane Butler and Jennifer Langford have been assigned to the Juvenile Court. Langford will start sometime after Jan. 1 and Butler starts immediately.

The five applicants who didn't make the cut can ask for their names to be tossed in with the 46 people who have applied for the pro tem position left vacant by Judge Jose Robles' unexpected departure.

The interview process for that position starts is mid-December.
