Clerk of the Superior Court of Pima County Toni Hellon has announced plans to run for election for the same post in 2014.

Hellon was appointed to complete the term of former clerk Patricia Noland who retired mid-term in March. Noland was first elected in 1999.

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer appointed Hellon in April. She previously was chief deputy clerk, holding the post since 2007.

Hellon also represented the northwest side as a Republican senator in the Arizona Legislature from 2000 to 2006.
