Judge Thomas L. Fink has been appointed presiding judge of the Santa Cruz County Superior Court.

Fink takes over the position after former presiding judge James A. Soto was appointed to the federal bench in U.S. District Court for Arizona.

Fink formerly was a defense attorney and federal prosecutor in Arizona and Illinois.

He earned a law degree from Northwestern University and was admitted to practice in Arizona in 1990.
