An recent study from the state of Massachusetts' Commonwealth Critical Infrastructure Program about school shooting incidents.

The report analyzes some of the commonalities in school shooting incidents across the country from 1992 to 2012.

A few interesting facts include:

  • 42 percent of school attacks occurred in morning hours
  • 96 percent of assailants were male
  • 80 percent of attacks were perpetrated by current or former students.
