A man accused of a murder from 2001 is scheduled to stand trial for third time next week in Pima County Superior Court.

Max LaMadrid was accused of shooting and killing Palo Verde High School student Tanee Natividad.

Natividad was killed in Nov. 2001 after a fight started between two groups of students at an east side fast food restaurant escalated to gunfire.

LaMadrid fled to Mexico following the incident where her remained until 2010.

In 2012, he was tried for first-degree murder but the jury could not reach a verdict and the judge declared a mistrial.

A second trial earlier this year had the same result.
