Thought I'd share the following from an email I received earlier this week:

Members of the Kappa Alpha Theta fraternity  will hold the traditional “CASA Walk” as part of their Grand Convention this week at the JW Marriott Starr Pass.

The “CASA Walk” will take place Saturday from 6:30 a.m. until 7:30 a.m., where more than 500 members of Theta will unite in a walk for vulnerable kids.

Proceeds will benefit CASA of Pima County and National CASA. CASA of Arizona, CASA of Pima County, and Pima County Juvenile Court will participate.

National CASA CEO Michael Piraino will deliver the keynote address after the walk. Mr. Piraino will address the beginning of a new phase in Kappa Alpha Theta’s partnership with CASA, aimed at ensuring a CASA volunteer for every child in need by 2020.

CASA stands for court-appointed special advocates. A CASA Volunteer is a specially trained community volunteer appointed by a Juvenile Court Judge to represent the best interests of abused and neglected children involved in court proceedings.
