Actress Valerie Bertinelli made a special appearance at a Tucson charter school Friday as part of Love of Reading. 

Bertinelli read "Green Eggs and Ham" to a group of second-graders at La Paloma Academy's central campus, 2050 N. Wilmot Road. 

Bertinelli — known for her role on the TV show "One Day at a Time" and currently starring in the sitcom "Hot in Cleveland" — was in Tucson on other business.

La Paloma Academy is a charter school serving grades kindergarten through eighth.
