Free tutor training sessions are being held at the end of the month for adults interested in working with elementary school students to improve their reading and writing skills.

The Oasis Intergenerational Tutoring Program will hold sessions for volunteer tutors on Sept. 25 and Sept. 26 at Oasis Headquarters, 2099 E. River Road, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Materials are provided.

After the training is complete tutors will be placed with students for one-on-one sessions twice a week. These will take place either at a Pima County public library convenient to both student and tutor, or at the student's school.
