A new downtown Tucson school is inviting families to learn about its programming Wednesday.

The Tucson IDEA School, 119 E. Toole Ave., will serve grades kindergarten through third for the upcoming school year. It will add a grade level each school year to ultimately operate as a K-8.

The independent school is Reggio Emilia-inspired, which is based in the belief of every child’s ability to learn, and that social and emotional development are as important as academic development.

The event is from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Free parking is available in a lot east of the building or in a lot on the northwest corner of Stone and Toole.
