Rincon High School was awarded The Ernest Andrew Rogers Award for outstanding Junior State Chapter of the Year.

The Junior Statesmen Foundation recognizes the most outstanding chapters in each of its jurisdictions. The ideal JSA chapter is the center of nonpartisan political activity and awareness on campus.

Rincon’s JSA Chapter was judged on its political awareness, civic engagement/activism, leadership and community service.

The Rincon chapter will receive a $1,000 scholarship to a Junior Statesmen Summer School and a full scholarship to a Junior Statesmen Institute for one chapter member.

The chapter will also compete in May at the national level for the Junior State of America’s National Civic Impact Award.
