School supply donations are sought to support Tucson-area teachers now through Aug. 17.

Tucson Values Teachers and Walgreens along with the Tucson Association of Realtors and other partners are hosting the Tucson Supplies Teachers drive.

Supplies, which can be dropped off at any Southern Arizona Walgreens, Wendy’s and Cox Communications locations, will be distributed to schools across the region.

Cash donations made through will be matched dollar-for-dollar.

Last year more than $192,000 in school supplies were raised — a total that Tucson Values Teachers hopes to meet or exceed this year.

"The supply drive grows every year, which is important because so does the need,” said Katie Rogerson, interim executive director of TVT.

Tucson Values Teachers is dedicated to raising the economic standing and respect levels of all district, private and charter school teachers in Southern Arizona. Its mission is to attract and retain the highest quality teachers through programs that invest, respect and reward all teachers.
