7 Tucson-area seniors win art scholarships

Seven Tucson high school seniors were awarded Southern Arizona Watercolor Guild scholarships.

The award recognizes high school students who have excelled in art and are continuing on to college.

The winners are:

- Samantha Trappman, University High School — Shirley Hamilton Memorial Art Scholarship Award ($1000)

- Jero Delos Santos, University High School — Laura Hollander Memorial Scholarship Award ($1000)

- Delaney Smith, Sonoran Science Academy — Award of Excellence ($1000)

- Carmina Garcia, Pueblo Magnet High School — Award of Honor ($750)

- Andrew Mendoza, Salpointe Catholic High School — Award of Honor ($750)

- Fiona Davey, Sonoran Science Academy — Award for Illustration ($500)

- Madeline LeBarron, Salpointe Catholic High School — Jurors’ Award ($500)
