Twelve Tucson schools are participating in a day of service on Sept. 28 to make campuses healthy and productive places for students to learn.

The projects, which including planting gardens, installing water harvesting systems and painting murals, are part of the Green Apple Day of Service, a global event. Some schools will also host sustainability workshops. The community is invited to volunteer at any of the following schools:

  • City High School
  • Presidio Schools
  • St. Mark's Preschool
  • Safford K-8 Magnet School
  • Drachman K-6 Montessori Magnet School
  • Borton Magnet School
  • Pueblo Magnet High School
  • Utterback Magnet Middle School
  • Roskruge Bilingual K-8
  • Kellond Elementary
  • Manzo Elementary
  • Holladay Magnet School

Schools can still develop Green Apple projects and register them with the Center for Green Schools, which administers the Green Apple program.
