ARIZONA: POOR FAILING SCHOOL DISTRICTS DEPRESSING TO THINK ABOUT

A proposed change in state school funding would give extra money to school districts serving wealthy and less-troubled populations. The measure would take money away from needy school districts in impoverished areas because according to Brewer, “They’re lazy and depressing to think about. Rich people's kids are nicer. Maybe the poor districts will get the hint and just go away.”

Gov. Jan Brewer, famous for her finger, is pushing the proposal sponsored by Sen. Kimberly Yee, R-Phoenix, who represents a wealthy area where residents can’t understand why everyone isn’t wealthy. “It's our way of giving struggling districts the finger. It's an incentive. Get it? If you want a good education get rich. Duh.”
