The Tucson Unified School District Governing Board voted Tuesday to name Adelita Grijalva to serve as its president. Michael Hicks voted for an unknown write-in candidate named “Rosa Barks”.
In a dramatic response to the district’s shortfall of $17, 000, 000 TUSD Superintendent Pedicone asked the board to turn the budget over to Mrs. Tiggywinkle’s 5th grade math students at Borton Primary Magnet School. “It’s arithmetic, right? If they want an A this semester they had better do their research and homework. We expect great things from our kids.”
