Fred Rogers and King Friday unveil their initial designs for Tucson's modern streetcar in 1996.

Fitzwire--The late star of Public Television’s “Mister Roger’s Neighborhood”, the affable Fred Rogers, a devoted trolley fanatic, played a significant role in the genesis of Tucson’s Sun Link streetcar. With generous support from King Friday, a noted advocate of light rail mass transit, Rogers foresaw “a lovely day in the neighborhood from the University of Arizona to downtown Tucson. At least until the drunk college students start carousing.”
