Fitzwire--Friends of the late playwright, Tennessee Williams, revealed that before authoring “A streetcar named desire”, Williams wrote “A streetcar named desire for a viable downtown”, which was performed in front of a conference of urban transportation visionaries meeting in San Francisco in 1942. No Tucsonans were among the group.
