It looks like a 2011 traffic accident involving a city employee will wind up costing taxpayers thousands.
The city council approved a $52,211 settlement offer to a man who was rear-ended by a city employee while sitting at a red light.
Eduardo Campos was waiting for the light to change at the intersection of East Golf Links Road and Swan Road when the city vehicle ran him.
Campos sought damages for medical expenses, lost earnings, pain and suffering, and more.
The council voted unanimously Tuesday night on the offer.
