Several public events around Tucson this weekend and next, including an art auction for decorated breast castings, will wrap up October's Breast Cancer Awarenss month.

The Susan G. Komen for the Cure's Southern Arizona affiliate will be part of three upcoming events that are open to the public:

The Studio's "Breasts for Life" project is based on two women who took castings of their busts prior to undergoing mastectomies.  The busts have been decorated by 26 artists in the Tucson area and will be for auction at the event.

• A screening of the 1986 film "Pretty in Pink" the Loft Cinema this Saturday (10/29) from 9:30am-noon will include baked items from Mimi's Cafe (Wilmot). 

 All Mimi's Cafes will also be participating in a special fundraiser for Komen SAZ from 4-10pm on 11/2 and 11/3.

•Harley-Davidson of Tucson is hosting its first ever http://www.tucsonharley.com/">Pink Ribbon Ride — Bikers Against Breast Cancer — on Saturday, Nov. 5th beginning at 9 a.m.  Theh ride will end at Redline Sports Grill for an after party.

Seventy-five percent of the funds raised for Susan G. Komen Southern Arizona's affiliate stay in the local community to pay for mammograms, health education materials and breast cancer treatment, the organization says.

The other 25 percent goes towards Komen's national research for breast cancer cures.
