Roxanna Green, whose 9-year-old daughter was gunned down on Jan. 8, 2011, has a Mother's Day message.

She is asking Americans to not just call their mothers, but to call their senators. Green is asking for sensible gun laws to curb violence with guns.

She's not trying to take legal guns away from people, but is asking for more prudence about who can have a gun. She'd also like to have limits on high capacity gun magazines and on assault weapons.

Too many mothers are being lost to gunfire, and too many mothers are losing their children, says Green, whose daughter Christina-Taylor Green would be turning 12 this year.
