Three faculty members from the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center are scheduled to speak at Tucson’s Fourth annual TEDx event today. TEDx is a locally organized version of the global Technology, Entertainment, Design conferences.

AHSC speakers include Dr. David G. Armstrong, professor of surgery and director of the Southern Arizona Limb Salvage Alliance; Dr. Allan Hamilton, executive director of the Arizona Simulation Technology and Education Center; and Dr. Esther Sternberg, director of research and professor at the UA Center for Integrative Medicine.

The Star has done stories on all three. Armstrong runs a limb salvage clinic at the UA that works at preventing amputation, Sternberg is an international expert in mind-body research and Hamilton is a Harvard trained brain surgeon and author who, among other things, teaches medical students ways to improve their bedside manner.

The event is at 8 p.m. (doors open at 7 p.m.) at the Rialto Theater, 318 E. Congress St. Tickets are $21 or $10 for students and are on sale at the Rialto box office or at
