American Legion Post 132 receives U.S. National Guard award

The U.S. National Guard has recognized American Legion Oro Valley Post 132 and its Auxiliary Unit for their support of guard members, their families and veterans in general.

The post received the 2013 National Guard Family Program Volunteer Award Dec. 8 at Pinal Air Park, marking the first time an Arizona post has receivd the distinction.

The award recognizes the post's veteran support programs, particularly to guard soldiers, as well as their families, who were deployed to Afghanistan. The post contributed more than $13,000 and more than 1,500 volunteer hours to support the troops and their families.
